About Us

Dámosy Law Firm is a boutique law firm specialised in financial regulatory law, particularly investment and capital markets law, financial and payment services law, as well as financial market compliance. Our firm represents and advises regulated entities, FinTech companies and has over 10 years of experience in financial regulation, gained by our colleagues at leading international law firms. 

The services of our firm include the representation of payment service providers and financial institutions in the full spectrum of their licensing procedures at the financial regulator, including establishment, operating licensing and other licensing procedures, compliance with the AML / CFT provisions and supporting their day-to-day operations. Our firm regularly provides legal advice on complex financial regulatory issues to banks, venture capital and private equity funds, online financial services providers and FinTech companies.

Fruzsina Kiss

Legal secretary

Fruzsina graduated from Eötvös Loránd University in the field of International Relations in 2020.
She is currently doing her English master’s degree in International Relations at the same university, where her major is security studies and EU law.

Dr Bence Gál

Junior associate

Bence graduated from the Faculty of Law of Pázmány Péter Catholic University in 2022, the same year he did join the firm as a junior associate. During his studies he took part in various professional events such as moot court competitions, the scientific students’ association, Global Legal Hackathon etc. He studied EU and corporate at Universidad CEU San Pablo Madrid.

Dr Szabolcs Fekete

Attorney-at-law

Szabolcs graduated from the Faculty of Law of Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in 2013. Before his legal education, he studied banking and finance, and completed the Broker Training Course organized by the Central European Broker Training Foundation.

After gaining some experience at a local firm, Szabolcs spent 8 years at the Capital Market and Market Supervisory Directorate of the Hungarian National Bank, as financial regulator, where he gained significant experience in the field of capital markets.

Dr Adrienn Nagy

Attorney-at-law

After graduating from Faculty of Law of Pázmány Péter Catholic University in 2011, Adrienn worked as a junior associate in a local law firm specialized in business law, where she gained insight into the legal aspects of corporate and real estate law. Following a short period in administration, she worked as the investor relations officer and the legal director of a company listed on the Budapest Stock Exchange.

Apart from civil law, corporate law and data protection, Adrienn mainly delt with capital markets legal matters.

Dr Edit Cserép

Edit graduated in law from Eötvös Loránd University in 2011, and has been admitted to the Budapest Bar Association since 2016. During her university years she spent a semester at Georg-August University in Göttingen and a semester as a trainee at the Gruska-Theus & Weber Law Firm in Göttingen.

She has gained experience as a trainee lawyer at law firms with an international client base and has been practicing as a lawyer since 1 January 2016. She joined Dámosy Law Firm in December 2017. She specializes in labour law, real estate law, economic law and data protection.  Her working languages are Hungarian and English.

Dr Bálint Dámosy

Managing partner, Attorney-at-law

Bálint is the founder and the managing partner of the firm. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Pázmány Péter Catholic University in 2005, and subsequently obtained a degree in economics from the Budapest University of Economics, Faculty of Finance and Accounting. During his studies in economics, his research focused on the banking capital adequacy standards.

Bálint has over 17 years of experience in banking and finance, capital markets and securities law and M&A. Prior to setting up the firm, he played a key role in setting up the financial regulatory practice group of an international law firm.

The main client base of the firm is composed of financial and payment institutions and equity funds. Bálint has significant experience in proceedings before the Hungarian National Bank and advises FinTech companies on complex financial regulatory and compliance issues on a daily basis.

Bálint speaks native Hungarian and German, fluent English and intermediate French.
